Project about the Cuban people through the 4 main races that make up their identity.
It documents their lifestyle and cultural expressions still present today.
The Cuban people is formed mostly by American Indians (Red), Spanish conquerors (White), African slaves (Black) and, to a lesser extent, Chinese immigrants (Yellow) .
The latest studies from the National Center for Medical Genetics in Cuba confirm that there is no racial purity, even though physical appearance may lead to believe so. The genetic markers of the more than 1000 Cubans analyzed indicate that, on average, the genes of the current Cuban population are 72 % of European origin, 20 % African and 8 % Native American.
